About SoundsGuid

SPOT the Wally Dug

SoundsGuid was formed in 1994/5 by Andy Brady who inherited a small amount of equipment and a smallish tape library from a friend who wished concentrate on his own business. Andy worked hard to establish SoundsGuid on the AA Convention Circuit in Scotland. Putting the basic equipment together was the major problem and slowly but surely over the next 4 years the equipment and the Tape Library has been built up together with a team of Volunteers to keep SoundsGuid going.

The Tape Library is today, quite vast, and includes recordings from all over the World and is being continually added to. SoundsGuid was computerised early in its inception and it designs all of the cassette covers and labels for the library. This resource is now being utilised on CD covers, labels and liners, which is its latest project. SoundsGuid also formed itself into a not-for-profit Charity in line with its philosophy of preserving the Archive for future generations and giving maximum value for money to both customers and Commissioning Committees.

SoundsGuid have recorded and installed P.A. systems in Meetings and Conventions all over Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. This year should see the first of hopefully many forays into Europe where they are scheduled to record a Convention this year in Holland and possibly Poland.

The move of SoundsGuid onto the WWW is another expression of SoundsGuid to provide quality recordings in a range of diverse formats, which can include cassette, mini disc, CD and possibly .MP3 tomorrow. The ability to reach new friends and users using the Net has not been lost on the SoundsGuid staff.

Let's hear from you wherever you are!
